Does God hear me when I pray? Is He disinterested in my prayers? Are my prayers relevant? Should I even bother praying? Does He talk to me?
The bible says:
The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry (Psa 34:15 NIV, 1 Pet 3:12)
O Thou that hearest prayer (Psa 65:2)
If we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him (1 John 5:15 NASB)
He does not ignore the cries of those who suffer (Psa 9:12 NLT)
The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help (Psa 34:17 NLT).
He heard Abraham when He prayed concerning Abimelech and responded by healing Abimelech and his family ( Gen 20:17-18).
He heard Solomon when he prayed at the dedication of the temple and responded saying, “I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before Me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my name there forever” (1 Kings 9:3 NIV).
He heard Cornelius who prayed to God continually and regularly and sent an angel to tell him, “your prayers and alms have ascended as a memorial before God” (Acts 10:4 NASB).
If you are His child then be assured that God hears you. Your prayers are not useless. James 5:1AMP says that, “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”
God sent an angel to Daniel saying, from the first day that you set your heart on understanding and humbling yourself before God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words” (Dan 10:12 NASB)
Rev 8:3-5 also shows the effect of the prayers of the saints.
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
Repent of any sin in your life because the scriptures say that “if I regard iniquity in my heart, thee Lord will not hear me” (Psa 66:18) and “we know that God does not hear sinners” (John 9:31).
Never doubt that God hears you. Remember that prayer is communion between you and God. Spend time in His presence……He still speaks.
