Each day that goes by brings us closer day by day, to Jesus’ soon return.
Jesus said, “for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will” (Matt 24:44).
2 Peter 3:10 says, But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night .
Jesus spoke of people still working in the fields or at the mill when they’ll be taken in the Rapture (Luke 17:34-36, Matt 24:42-44). This shows how unexpected the Rapture would be. If you knew exactly when the Rapture would occur you probably won’t be at the factory or the mill.
You may ask, Why do you think Jesus is coming back soon? Jesus said, Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; so, you too, when you see all these things recognise that He is near, right at the door. Matt 24:32-33. A significant number of bible prophecies regarding the endtimes have already been fulfilled or are being fulfilled as you read this.
It’s sad and shocking that the response of some people to the message Jesus-is-coming is a sneer, hostility or an attitude of what-else-is-new.
In 2 Peter 3:3-4 God said there’ll be scoffers in these times who deliberately forget or overlook God’s word that says that this present earth is reserved for fire and judgment just as God’s word brought judgment to the earth by flood in Noah’s day. Jude verse 18 also speaks of mockers who follow their ungodly lusts.
What is your response to the message that Jesus is coming soon? Is your heart’s response, Jesus can’t come yet because I haven’t had time to eat, drink and be merry.
The people in Noah’s day went about their daily activities while Noah built the ark, no one gave heed to God’s message through Noah (Luke 17:26-27; 2 Pet 2:5, Matt 24:37-39).
Are you overlooking or ignoring the message that Jesus is coming soon? Is your response scorn? Do you laugh with scorn when the good news is shared with you that Jesus is returning very soon?
I believe that Jesus is coming soon…. what should I do?What’s the right response to the message Jesus-is-coming-soon?
Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap; for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth. But keep on alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man Luke 21:32-34 NASB
Guard and keep yourselves in the love of God; expect and patiently wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ Jude:21 AMP
But the end of all things is at hand: be therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. 1 Pet 4:7
Since all these things are to be destroyed in this way, what sort of people ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God……Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless. 2 Pet 3:11,12,14
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord cometh Matt 24:42
Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour Matt 25:13 NASB
I charge [you] in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, Who is to judge the living and the dead, and by (in the light of) His coming and His kingdom: Herald and preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging and encouraging them, being unflagging and inexhaustible in patience and teaching…… As for you, be calm and cool and steady, accept and suffer unflinchingly every hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fully perform all the duties of your ministry.1 Tim 4:1-2,5 AMP
Take heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. Mark 13:33
